Lady Bug Girl and Bumble "C"

Happy Halloween 2010!

Can't get enough of these pumpkins...we are so very proud! Never imagined we were capable of such an artistic feat, even with a stencil...

What better way to travel from house to house? Wouldn't want to burn off all that candy, would we!?!

The neighborhood kids at the annual Haynes starting point.

Not a holiday without Keller...

Lots of fun and candy later we returned sugar high and happy!

Food for thought: Blayne picked out her costume early, I want to say July.

She wavered between a lady bug and a butterfly for a while, but momma made her choose come September. It was lady bug from there on out. She also decided Caden would be a bumble bee or "c", in this case.

While shopping, momma tried on many an awesome, fancy, expensive Tom Arma costume for Caden...an elephant, a frog, even a giraffe, but no. Caden was so unbelievably P.O.-ed with these costumes on in the dressing room, so momma said, OK Blayne, yes, we will try a bumble bee costume. He put it on and at once he was all smiles and laughs. So Bumble "c" it was.

P.S. Blayne has already decided that next year she will be a bumble B and Caden will be a lady bug...I don't think so...but we'll see...

Photographer in the making...

I think we see a future...

Mia- Bucca October

Like last year, we were fortunate enough to have Mia and Bucca join us for Halloween! We had lots of fun getting ready for the holiday! Mia brought both babies some jams to set the mood- see Caden's above!

Some pink painted toe-nails and singin' in the rain and lots of good hugs as always!

It's FUN to be ONE!

It is, in fact, FUN to be ONE! Why not? I mean come on- the whole idea is to take cake and ice cream and SLAM it into your own face for the FIRST time and just wallow in it. So Blayne, Caden and I marched ourselves to the newest cupcake place in town- Delasandri's Gourmet Cupcakes- we bought 4 different kinds -to let Caden try-...Blayne insisted on carring them upstairs...see above...we ate them anyway, of course- he's one, he didn't seem to notice.

It was truly a beautiful moment- he was thrilled. As far as gifts, as a second child (sorry buddy) we tried to stick to 1.) things we didn't already have, and 2.) things we really needed. Yes, bowls were scarce in our kitchen- but hey, they were a hit!!!

These one fish, two fish, red fish, blue fish shoes were too much for momma to resist...

And finally, cake time! I have Caden J. pegged as a vanilla man, but Blayne chose who got which cupcakes. Chocolate it was.

Ah yes, oh happy day; messy, chocolaty bliss.

And so goes the celebration- PARTY ON!

Even Zaza made it for the special day! After all, she was here last year!

What, other than bowls and cake, does a one year old really want? Freedom to pull as many wipes or tissues out of the box as he wants, of course!! And, yes, he did make it all the way to the bottom before he crashed at nap time.

Aw yeah, fun to be one for sure! Happy 1st birhtday Caden J.
