2 weeks notice

POSTED

N Nonsense

N Mercy

-let's be honest-

N ...patience.

That's right folks...Caden has been given his two week notice as of Wednesday, September 30th. He is scheduled for eviction on his due date, the 14th of October, should he dare to not grace us with his presence before then.

And...this time it is actually scheduled, so unless there is a really good reason that he is not ready- this truly should be our end date- which means, of course, let the games begin! Please do comment a date sometime within the next 10 days (today is really the 4th) of when you think Caden will join us and how much you think he will weigh.

I know they have the fancy links now, but we prefer old school comments- it seems more personal and assures us that despite our blogging negligence, someone is still reading this and our efforts aren't completely in vain. The portuguese water dog prize still stands since Ms. Blayne's 12 day late arrival was not anticipated by any of us.

I am sure Ian will comment, but he has already claimed the date of the 14th. He will have to add his own weight, etc. as I am no longer talking to him ;-)

Nesting

Here is a sneak peak into Baby Caden's new room. We have decided to put him downstairs with Blayne. The two will be across the hall from one another and share a bathroom which should alleviate some of the potential up and down action with a three story house.

Notice Mommy isn't completely crazy- she did put a little bed in here so she can just stay here and sleep in the middle of the night if and when necessary...as well as monitor Ms. Blayne's "helping" with the baby.

NOTE: climbing into the crib in the middle of the night does not qualify as helping...and don't think we haven't found her in there already...

And while we absolutely needed to prepare a room for young Caden, "nesting" this time did somehow translate into the need to also re-paint the entire house before the baby gets here.

What? It needed to be done.

Luckily, we have enough construction work going right now that Mommy worked a good deal to have it done for us!
So, needless to say, Ms. Blayne's room also got a face lift- I don't think we've actually posted any pics of it since she moved downstairs herself, last January. She had a really cool bunk bed, but like the crib, when the climbing started, we had to split it and do a quick remodel.

The rest of the house is still somewhat 'under construction' but with any luck we will have things 'under control' in the next few weeks. We'll see...as much as we want to have everything in order, Mommy is losing momentum.

A Caden Shower

Some of our friends and neighbors decided that, despite the fact that they had already thrown us a fantastic shower for a first baby, we -and I quote- "needed some blue".

When asked, we requested diapers, but you all know no one (at least no woman) can resist that adorably sweet baby outfit that calls your name...or in this case...boots. It is a little funny, and slightly frightening to think that both our babies will be Texans. We are quickly becoming out numbered...

And don't worry about our baby girl- I am not sure who actually received more presents- Caden or Blayne. She definitly made out. Please note the feathered high heels!
And apart from all the doting and gifts, it was a good opportunity to spend some time with her friends. It is sweet, and again, slightly frightening that I would not be surprised to see young Keller here as the first gentleman caller Ian gets to approach with a shotgun in a few short years...
All in all, it was a wonderful party- we are so greatful and fortunate to have such good friends so far from home. Thank you everyone!

"The Tazmanian Devil Made Me Do It!"

As Mommy's feet become more of a possible focus point (not that she can see them) and farther and farther out of reach, we decided it was time to go for a little bit of girl's R & R.

Mommy realized it was a long shot, but she felt a pedicure was well deserved and decided she would just see what I would do in the situation... We entered the salon and she quickly told the ladies she needed the fastest pedicure they could provide.

Well- she should have known! Who exactly does she think I am? A pedicure- while I watch? Not in this lifetime! I sat down with Mommy and stuck my feet in the "agua blue" as though this was all for me. They washed my toes and gave me "tickles" and massaged my feet and legs. After all that they put "pintura" on my toe nails- it was fantastic! I am up for a little girl's R & R anytime!

P.S. The post title is the name of the nail polish color Blayne picked out for our feet...quite appropriate in this case...

35 Weeks

In our neglect of belly shots this time around, luckily (again) Mia was insistant we get some. For as resistant as Mommy was about photographing the belly, Blayne was equally tolerant of the situation and we snapped many a shot of her kissing her brother-to-be.

Some fun things that Blayne says/does about the confusion....

"Mommy's big belly"

"Baby Caden in Mommy's big belly"

She will try and give him (the belly) the pacifier ;-)

(After playing in his room and "Blayne made a mess") she'll say "All Caden's"

She'll put her hand on my belly and say "Feel hiccups?"

"Out Caden"

Mia/Bucca Visit

As you might have guessed from my swimmin' videos, I got a visit from Mia and Bucca over Labor Day Weekend!

We has so much fun as usual...besides swimmin' and jumpin' we did all the cool stuff that I never do with my parents (hey, you can't totally blame them, we live here, it's not the same...) rode the choo-choo train, the cows (carousal), played on the newly opened play ground at Kemah and lots more!

As always, we had lots of fun and I can't wait until they visit again!
We do have more pics to post- luckily Mia takes lots of photos of me when she's here and lets mama steal them for her blog posts!

I swim; I jump...2, 1, 2, 3, 1...

One of my most favorite activities these days is to go to the pool. "Pool, Mama. Pool Dada."

"I swim."

"I jump."

"Do rocket." (bounce off the bottom)

"Under."

"Do airplane." (back float)

"Side to side." (get out via side of the pool)

"I kick."

"I dive." (uh...jump/belly flop...)

"Helicopter." (get thrown in by someone else)

"Take shower" (rinse off after swimming)

I do not want my towel. I do not want to get out. I do not want to go home. I do not count in chronological order when jumping off the side.

"I'm two."
