Do I hear round 3?

Oh yes...one more round, and this time we did it Clear Lake Shores style: sun, pool, food and mimosas (but not for the kids, not even the birthday girl). I know I am only one, but Mom and Dad worked hard on planning a great first birthday for me, I mean how many times do you turn 1? Of course, you could use this argument with any number...and I plan to ;-)

We celebrated like true Texicans with a tres leches cake. Note to self: Do not put an iced cake under the table (no, not even if you're trying to keep it out of the sun) when you have a toddler...

Here I am eatin' a little cake with Daddy (yes, this time it was after the cake was actually served) and opening some gifts.

Seriously, who wrapped the cheerios? Not funny.

Memories

We have been reminiscing a bit the last few days...the long 12 days I made everyone wait for me, the day of my arrival and the days following. It is just amazing to believe I am already 1 year old! Walking and talking (or vocalizing anyway) and winning over the hearts of my parents and others. We had to go and get a picture in front of the same sign that welcomed me to Clear Lake Shores for the first time almost a year ago. I hope we can make this a tradition during our time here- get my picture in front of the sign on my birthday and watch how I grow and change!
I know it's far from home (or mom and dad's home) but it is a pretty cool place to live and grow up!

Round 2!

For birthday round #2- which was the actual day (note my shirt which clears up any confunsion- thanks Mia!)- we went to the park, just mommy, daddy and me. We swung on the monkey bars, climbed up the rock wall, slid down the slide, and just hung out and had fun. I got to try my first taste of pizza which was appropriately the same pizza daddy brought mommy in the hospital the night I was born. We finished up the event with some more of that yummy cake!!

Hmmmm...this stuff is so good, I think I could eat the whole thing!! More, more, more...

uh oh- too much!

I'll have my cake and eat it too, thanks!

Hmmm...what is this crazy looking, flaming object??

A little taste...yes, it's food...yes, it's...it's WONDERFUL! I need more! I must cover myself in it and save some for later!

We considered putting her on the floor and letting the puppies clean her up, but luckily Mia was in town and not only quickly veto-ed that plan, but kindly took her upstairs and washed her properly in the bath tub!

Blayne's 1st Birthday- Take 1

Since the Miller clan was leaving Monday and my birthday is not until Wednesday, we decided to have an early party on Sunday night. We had a wonderful steak dinner (although I somehow still got veggies), followed by some present opening and then, of course, the CAKE!
One of my favorite gifts was Aunt Quinny and Uncle Dave's marshmallow lollipop! My mommy only let me have a few licks but it was DELICIOUS!!

Hangin out with my family

As you can see, we did have a little time to relax while the Millers were here. Of course, this was easy with all the new toys I got for my upcoming birthday! Above you can see my new pig pillow from my Aunt Quinny and Uncle Dave, my new Dr. Seuss book from my Aunt Deb and my other Uncle Dave, and some of my new cloths from Mia, Bucca and Aunt Haley- Thank you all so much for everything!
Seriously though- don't tell me that the lyrics "work, turn to the left, work, now turn to the right" don't pop into your head when you see that picture of me at the pool ;-)

Miller time is like Jello

There's always room for more!! And this time, I didn't just get to visit with my Mia, Bucca and Aunt Haley, I also got to hang out with my Grammy and Tedd! It was a short weekend but, as always, we were able to pack in lots of fun!

We packed in some good ol' fashined blue crabs, some dress up, as always some boating, and lots of lovin'!

Marshmallow Queen

Run, run as fast as you can...you can't catch me, I'm the marshmallow (wo)man!!!
1. Open drawer
2. Grab the mellows (jet puff brand only, please)
3. Remove from drawer

4. Run, run, run as fast as you can
5. Hide
6. Chew through the plastic until you reach the soft fluffy goodness!

The first time Blayne got ahold of this bag she actually managed to extract a mellow before I could get it away from her. Being a mom, I immediately attempted to remove the choking hazard from her tiny clenched jaw, but to no avail. I did successfully remove half of the mellow but the other half was staying in her mouth come hell or high water. Now that she has tasted the sweet nectar of the mellow, we seem to be constantly chasing her around the house with a bag of marshmallows in her little hands.
