Or so we thought...

Well...we thought we were headed home, as a matter of fact, we were making good time and on our way to a 4AM arrival- enough time for mommy and daddy to get some sleep before I would want to get up...perfect! but, no. No, no, no, no.
Didn't anyone ever tell you that boats are just trouble?!? About midnight, driving down I-12 in Louisiana we hit a bump and then proceeded to cross several lanes of traffic. Luckily daddy was driving and it was late enough at night that traffic was light. Long story, short- the axel broke...not good.

The diagnosis: New Axel.

Date of disaster: Sunday morning, 12AM

The Bad News: No axel- at least not until Monday morning.

The good news: We landed in Abita Springs...hard break to have to spend the afternoon at the Abita Brew Pub...
Better news: Drinks were on Blayne...

Ba-bye San Blas, ba-bye

Unfortunately, like all good things, our vacation must come to an end. We had so much fun. Thank you so much Mia and Bucca for having us. And congratulations again Aunt Haley- thanks for including us in your graduation vacation!

Wrapped around my little finger

Ok Mia and Bucca- now look at the camera. Good. Now smile. Well done. Now promise to buy me a car when I'm 16. Excellent.

Pain in the-- cheeks!?!

No, no, the other cheeks! We got some beautiful photos but some jaw massaging was definitely necessary to completely recover ;-)

P.S. Don't forget blogger fans- you can always click on the pictures to enlarge and see us in life size...well almost...

Go fish

Ok- take a quick glance at these fish- would you believe me if I told you we caught them all in about 20 minutes? No!?! I'm shocked! Ok...you're right, we didn't -but- Captain Eric did...

Mom, Dad, Bucca, Haley and Dave all took a day trip diving offshore. As we were getting our gear prepared, our captain suited up to jump in before us to secure the decent line down to our +/- 100 ft destination: the Empire Mica. He asked jokingly -or so we thought- if we didn't mind him taking his spear gun along for the trip. About 20 minutes later a big cloud of bubbles signaled our dive master to pull up the line; that he had landed a fish...or four. The dive master proceeded to pull these monsters out of the water as we all watched, our jaws on the deck.
Fish for Thought: The Mica was a fuel ship on its way from Baytown Texas (ironic) to England -by way of Port St. Joe- scheduled to deliver kerosene when it was fatally interrupted by a German U-Boat. Pretty cool stuff!

That's beachin'!

Miller Beach Babies!! Me, of course, then Aunt Haley with me again, and finally the newest almost addition to our clan- Kennedy. Here is a nice belly shot of Kennedy (oh yeah, and Aunt Quinny and Uncle Dave...they'll get used to the back burner here in a few more weeks...) with about a trimester to go. Mom did tell me that Kennedy would be coming on vacation with us- somehow I thought she'd be more fun...maybe next time.

It just wouldn't be beachin' without a little quality daddy time!

6 of 1; 1/2 dozen of another

Either way you count 'em- that's how many teeth you need to eat yourself some corn on the cob.

We all sat down for dinner one night and being high-chair-less as we were, I perched myself on mommy's lap to enjoy the festivities. Mommy was going to just hold me and wait for someone to finish, but it had been a long day and she was hungry too! She thought she would just try and have a quick bite to tide her over when- surprise!- they're weren't one, but TWO sets of teeth marks in the corn! Silly mommy- what did she think? That I was just gonna sit there and let her have all the fun? Does she know me at all?

Sandy Sunsets

Sunsets on the beach were probably the busiest part of vacation. They consisted of photo taking, campfires, photo taking, smores, lots of fun and more photo taking. So, come dusk- you had better grab your camera, your smile and your cocktail (and probably the lighter) and prepare for the green flash!

So-more of what?

Everyone -even Kennedy (AKA Baby T)- endulged in the yummy goodness of chocolate and graham crackers...and of course, my favorite, marshmallows!

The Forgotten Coast

I can definitly see how this place got the nickname, but it won't be forgotten in my mind! We did some shell searching at Lighthouse Beach (above) and just hung out in the middle of St. Joesph Bay (below). Luckily Daddy couldn't come to Florida without a boat (you know him!) so we had lots of options when it came to exploring!
